24 November – sketch & swing!

The Underground Art Club will open its doors again at 7 pm on 24 November for more vaudeville entertainment, drawing and dancing!

We are honoured to once again have Odonata, Noovajoh and David Duffy grace our teeny tiny stage.

Odonata is an enchanting dancer, brilliant teacher and wonderful art model. She also does VJing, if anyone is looking for some fantastic images!

ODONATA – DANSE ET ART NUMÉRIQUE – GENÈVE

See her dance here: http://odonata.ch/videodanse/

Novajooh has performed brilliant Bollywood dance for us in the past, and has kindly agreed to bring a unique and spirited interpretation of Bollywood songs and dance routines to our evening! Novajooh’s other talents include singing and acting. What a chameleon!

David Duffy was born into a musical family in County Mayo, Ireland and started singing on stage, playing fiddle, piano and saxophone at an early age. As well as singing and playing in his family’s country music band David was a successful competitor in traditional Irish music competitions. He also won a scholarship to study classical violin at the college of music in Dublin.

A brilliant musician and witty raconteur, David Duffy has toured the world with his own band, and as a member of the award winning, Grammy nominated World Party.

Come and listen to him play at the Underground Art Club (and then book him for a gig…..he’s awesome!).

To remind you of what The Underground Art Club is all about…..

Our events are a fusion of vaudeville theatre, involving short performances by talented artists. The audience then get to sketch the performers! There are games and prizes. There is wine and song. There are sharp pencils.

All materials provided. No drawing skills needed. It’s just for fun.

Come drink, draw and dream with us!

Photos from our event in December 2016

Sorry it took so long to get these up! We at the Underground Art Club are so eccentric and bohemian that it’s a wonder we ever get anything done at all. It was a great evening, and thanks must got to our wonderful performers, Aja, Noovajoh, Hana and Odonata, as well as my co-host Michele, the gorgeous guys and gals from Backbeat (formerly known as G-swing) and our lovely volunteer helpers. Of course, we also love our art club audience – and your drawings!

Here are a few photos from our most recent event. If you feature in one of them and would rather not have it up on a public blog, please let me know.

See you at our next event on 3 March!!!!!

The Underground Art Club is back!

After a rather long hiatus, we are sharpening our pencils and dusting off our sketchbooks!

On 2 December, we will be back at Dialogai (11 rue de la Navigation) for more delightful performances, drawing and drinks.

This time, we will also be extending our event until midnight, so you can get your dancing shoes on and enjoy some swing era tunes!

We already have two great acts lined up, and two more to be confirmed.

Odonata will be hypnotizing us with her dancing and if we are very, very good, she will model for us, too. See her Facebook page or website for more details: https://www.facebook.com/odonata.ch or http://www.odonata.ch

Aja will enthrall us with her voice. She has been a regular at UAC, either as a soloist or as part of the brilliant band, Emrys.

There will be the usual drawing shenanigans, drinks and prizes.

All materials provided.

Just bring yourselves…..and all your friends. Watch this space for updates.

See you soon!
